Military Records and Family History Presentation

Hear genealogist Toni McKeen give a presentation about World War I and World War II military records and their use in family history research on Friday, July 17th from 2-4pm in the Kingsley Room of the Southbury Public Library. Toni will include a handout of helpful military sites, and she will begin the presentation with slides of historical WWI and WWII posters - she also presents the lecture in an authentic WWII military jacket.

This program is part of the library's "World of Downton Abbey" 2015 adult summer series and it is sponsored by the Janet Mann Genealogy Fund (refreshments will be provided by the Library Gift Fund). Toni is a member of several genealogical organizations, the Chairman of the Genealogy Club of Newtown, and she teaches several levels of genealogy courses in her hometown of Ridgefield, CT. Over the years she taught more than 2,400 hours of genealogy courses at Founders Hall in Ridgefield, as well as in Redding, CT and in Bronxville and Mamaroneck, NY. She continues to study her own extensive Italian family's genealogy, her husband's Irish family, and son in law's German family after almost three decades of genealogical research. Toni is also a popular lecturer at various genealogy societies in the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Boston, and Long Island areas.
