Set on Christmas Eve in 1965, the show follows the adventures of The Mistletoes, America’s favorite singing sisters. The gals have just wrapped up their Christmas tour and are heading home for the holidays when a  sudden winter storm strands them in Danbury, Connecticut.

The group seeks shelter at The Palace Theatre where a sold out audience has braved the storm and is ready to be entertained. However, the evening’s headliner is stuck in the snow and can’t make it to the Palace. In the true spirit of Christmas, The Mistletoes step in and save the day with their holiday show. And to the audience’s delight, The Mistletoes are joined on stage by a choir of caroling youngsters.

Featured as The Mistletoes are Diana Matson and Priscilla Squiers (Danbury); Lynn Paulella Beard (Harwinton); andJuliette Koch (Millbrook, NY).  Their road manager Randy is portrayed by Alex Vournazos (Danbury). Anna DeMasi (New Fairfield) serves as musical director for the production.

The caroling ensemble includes Hannah Margiloff, Curtis Rodriguez,  AnnaMarie Hickey (Danbury); Ryan Sokira (Monroe); Paige Socol (Fairfield); Emma Lubbers (Mahopac, NY); and MaryRose Canevari, Jack Canevari (Pawling, NY).

Written and directed by Bradford Blake, founding Artistic Director of Musicals at Richter, Blake takes his inspiration for the show from the classic holiday entertainment of yesteryear: "When I think of entertainment around the holidays, some of my fondest memories are the holiday TV specials like Bing Crosby and Andy Williams. In retrospect they were probably “cornier than Kansas in August,” but what I remember is the great warmth and terrific music. That's what “The Mistletoes Take a Holiday” endeavors to bring to the Palace audiences.”

Performances are Friday, December 16 and Saturday, December 17 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, December 18 at 3 p.m. at The Palace Danbury, 165 Main Street, in Danbury. General admission tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and students and $15 for children 10 and under.  For further information and to purchase tickets, visit https://tickets.thepalacedanbury.com. or call 203-794-9944.
