Absentee Ballots Available

Absentee ballots are available at the Southbury Town Clerk's Office for the Town of Southbury 2014-2015 Budget and the Pomperaug Regional School District #15 2014-2015 Budget for the referendum being held on May 7, 2014. Registered electors of the Town or United States Citizens, who are eighteen years or older, and own taxable property assessed at $1,000.00 or more on the October 1, 2013 Grand List, can vote in this referendum. Ballots cannot be mailed to you for this type of referendum.

Please remember that obtaining an absentee ballot is a two step process; first, you must complete an application and it must be verified by this office, and second, an absentee ballot is issued. Absentee ballots must be given to the applicant in person or to the applicant's designee. Ballots must be returned to this office before the close of polls, 8:00 p.m., on the day of the referendum.

Application forms can be picked up from this office or downloaded from the Town of Southbury website.

This referendum will have two (2) questions on it. The first question will be the municipal budget only; the second question will be the Pomperaug Regional School District #15 Budget. The questions will be:

QUESTION # 1

"Shall the Town of Southbury appropriate $19,547,277 for the municipal budget and approve the Special Revenue Funds appropriations for the fiscal year July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015?"

QUESTION # 2

"Shall the proposed 2014 - 2015 Budget of the Pomperaug Regional School District #15 in the amount of $64,228,446 be adopted?"
