Road Work Scheduled to Begin in Southbury on November 30

River Road - Spot Repairs

The Town of Southbury is scheduled to begin spot paving repairs on River Road between Silver Bridge and Purchase Brook starting on November 30, 2015. The spot paving repairs are anticipated to take approximately two days, weather permitting.

Please anticipate traffic delays; however the road will remain open for mail delivery, emergency vehicles, and local traffic. No street parking will be allowed during construction.

Old Waterbury Road - Culvert Repairs

The Town of Southbury is scheduled to begin culvert repairs on Old Waterbury Road east of Church Road on December 1, 2015. The project will make much needed repairs to the existing culvert. The project is anticipated to take approximately two to three weeks, weather permitting. The project will begin with the insertion of the new culvert pipes and continue with grouting of the pipes in place. Temporary lane closures may occur during the day over the duration of the project. Some road spot repairs will be done after the internal repairs are completed. Once construction is complete, the Town will restore the affected surface areas by loaming, seeding, curbing, guiderails and pavement repairs.

Please anticipate one lane traffic and potentially significant delays during construction; however the road will remain open for mail delivery, emergency vehicles, and local traffic. The road will be opened at the end of each day. No street parking within the work area between Church Road and 600 Old Waterbury Road will be allowed.
