UPDATE#3: State Police Detectives Investigate Waterbury Untimely Deaths

State Police Detectives from Central District Major Crime are investigating the untimely deaths of two deceased adults.

On July 20, 2016 at approximately 5:00 a.m., Waterbury Police Department responded to 31-33 Marion Ave. in Waterbury for a reported disturbance.

Upon Waterbury Police Department arrival they located two unresponsive adults at the residence. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced both adults deceased.

At the request of the Waterbury State’s Attorneys Office and the Waterbury Chief of Police, State Police Detectives from Central District Major Crime Squad responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) also responded to the scene and will assist with the investigation. The OCME will conduct post-mortem examinations to determine the cause and manner of death of the two individuals.

One of the deceased has been identified as an off-duty Waterbury Police Officer. Identification of both individuals is pending notification to next of kin.

The individuals involved are acquainted and the extent of their relationship is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Troop I at 203-393-4200 or text “TIP711” with your information to 274637. All calls/texts will be kept confidential.
This is an isolated incident. There is no threat to the community. This is an active investigation.

Waterbury, CT.
Cause of death: multiple gunshots Manner of death: homicide
