Oxford Man Arrested for Killing Cat

CT State Police say that Craig Middendorf of Oxford, CT was annoyed by a stray cat so he shot and killed the cat with a 22 caliber rifle in the backyard of his Oxford residence. Middendorf lives side-by-side to Christine Jones (the victim) in a duplex type residence, police say.

"The cat ended up being owned by the victim," says police officer, Darren Pavlik of CT State Police.

According to police, Middendorf's rifle was seized and he had no other firearms. He was released on a $25,00 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on February 5.
