Person-to-Person Receives Grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation

Person-to-Person has received a $20,000 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation for the agency’s Emergency Assistance Program.

Through this program, P2P offers a safety net to low-income and food-insecure residents of Fairfield County in the form of financial assistance, food, clothing, casework counseling and access to a variety of inter-connected services, including assistance with budgeting, advocacy for benefits and referrals to partner agencies.

According to P2P Executive Director Ceci Maher, this funding from Fairfield County's Community Foundation will help the agency provide year-round, rapid response to client emergencies and access to a skilled caseworker to provide counseling and referrals. “Our mission is to support individuals and families as they move toward stability.”

Last year, Person-to-Person provided food, clothing and financial assistance to more than 23,000 men, women and children – from $481,585 in financial assistance for 1,172 families to 748,944 meals from groceries for 10,044 people.

“We appreciate this grant,” says Maher “and we are grateful to the individuals, families and companies that have established charitable funds at Fairfield County’s Community Foundation for making this possible.”
