An Evening with Author Philip Caputo in Stamford on May 11

The Ferguson Library will host an evening with author Philip Caputo to celebrate the launch of his new book, "Some Rise by Sin." The book launch will be held May 11 at 7 p.m. at the Main Library, DiMattia Building.
 
"Some Rise by Sin" is the story of a priest struggling to walk a moral path through the shifting and fatal realities of an isolated Mexican village that is menaced by a cultish drug cartel infamous for its brutality.

A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and the bestselling author of 16 books, Philip Caputo  has traveled through all 50 states, and worked in, lived in, or visited 52 countries. He fought in one war with the Marine Corps and covered five others as a war correspondent. 

His memoir "A Rumor of War" is one of the most highly-praised books of the 20th century. It has been published in 15 languages and sold more than 1.5 million copies. Caputo will appear in The Vietnam War, a ten-part documentary by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick, airing on PBS in September.
