Stamford's Big Read Kicks Off Oct. 1 With Award-Winning Author Edwidge Danticat

Stamford's Big Read will feature the award-winning memoir, "Brother I'm Dying" by Haitan-American author Edwidge Danticat. 
 
The program kicks off with a visit from the author on Sunday, October 1 at 3 p.m. Acclaimed Haitian singer Emeline Michel will perform as part of the program.
 
The NEA Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest. It will continue throughout October with book discussions, a Haitian Book & Arts Festival, and other programs. Check the Big Read page on the library's website for details.
 
Stamford's Big Read involves a number of community partners, including UCONN Stamford. "Brother, I'm Dying" will be the incoming read for all freshmen this fall. The Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book.
