FREE holiday screening THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL at Avon Theater

On Saturday, December 2 at 10:00am The Avon Theatre in Stamford, Connecticut will offer a free screening of the 1992 classic,  THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL, a musical fantasy comedy-drama film adapted from Charles Dickens’s 1843 novel A Christmas Carol.

Michael Caine stars in this re-telling of the classic holiday tale, set in 19th Century London, as the crotchety Ebenezer Scrooge, the old miser who could care less about Christmas and the joy the season brings. Kermit the Frog plays his faithful employee Bob Cratchit, who begs Scrooge for a day off for Christmas. Scrooge reluctantly agrees and goes home on Christmas Eve filled with bile at the holiday merrymakers. But then he is visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future. After revisiting his sorrowful past, hate-filled present, and doomed future, Scrooge turns over a new leaf and becomes the most generous and celebratory person in town. He decides to surprise Bob's family with a turkey dinner, and then ventures out to spread happiness and joy around London. THE MUPPET CHRISTMAS CAROL, which is guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit, was dedicated to the memory of Muppets creator Jim Henson.

The Muppet Christmas Carol is rated G, is in English and is 85 minutes in length. Tickets for this FREE event will be available at the box office on a first come, first served basis.
