HamletHub Editor is Loco for Cotto Wine Bar

Tucked in the center of Stamford is one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. Known for their creative wine list, Cotto is a chic, but cozy little spot with a Roman inspired decor.

Ambiance aside, the food a reason to keep coming back.

Restaurateur Claudio Ridolfi introduced Cotto Wine Bar to downtown Stamford, CT in 2012.  Driven by a love and passion for food from his native Roma, Claudio offers rustic Italian handmade, homemade, authentic Roma fare.  Cotto is dedicated to providing our customers with the best service, the best food, and the most  meaningful dining experience in Fairfield county.

Cotto combines an old school culinary ethos with an impassioned wine identity.  The 400+ selections of wine labels are divided among the main wine producing regions of the world led by Italy and America.

Cotto is reminiscent of a tucked away wine bar found in the vield streets of Rome.  Designed as Piattini style wine bar with communal dinning tables, the focal point of this hip urban eatery is the exposed brick wall adorned with vintage photos and magazine covers of Silvy's (Claudio's wife) mother who was prominent actress and model in Italy throughout the 1960's and 70's.

The impressive wine program is matched by a vibrant menu desigend around an array of Italian small plates, including fresh mozzarella bar favorites, as well as pasta made fresh in house by Claudio, wood-fired pizza, daily market fresh fish, from Fulton Fish Market Bronx N.Y., grass fed beef, and seasonal produce.

Cotto is where people gather over great food and wine.

Cotto is located at  51 Bank Street in Stamford, CT
