From Darkroom to Daylight Film Screening at The Bruce Museum

The Stamford Photography Club, in cooperation with the Bruce Museum, presents From Darkroom to Daylight, a documentary film by Harvey Wang. Offered in conjunction with the Bruce Museum’s exhibition Towards Abstraction, 1940 -1985: Brett Weston Photographs from the Bruce Museum Collection, the program includes the screening and discussion with filmmaker Harvey Wang and Bruce Museum Deputy Director Susan Ball, exhibition curator. Advance registration suggested on Bruce Museum Eventbrite: Free for SPC and Bruce members, $10 for non-members. At the door: $10 SPC and Bruce members, $20 non-members.

Harvey Wang's film From Darkroom to Daylight explores the transition in photography from film to digital. The film (and book of the same name) features interviews & profiles with important figures in the field of photography. Each shares their personal perspective on this monumental shift in the practice of photography, and how it has influenced their work. The stories are told through studio visits, artists' work and archival imagery.
