A vigil is planned at Walnut Beach Milford at 6 pm in memory of slain Johnathan Law student Maren Sanchez who succame to knife wounds from an attack at the high school earlier this morning. Sanchez was only 16 years old.
According to the Advocate, Johnathan Law's student run newspaper, Sanchez's family are requesting "anyone who is going to Walnut Beach for the vigil to wear their prom dresses and tuxes" according to the Advocate's Twitter feed.
The Advocate further published If anyone wants to go to Walnut Beach around 6 to honor Maren, we can bring candles and light them for her. All are welcome."
Sanchez was believed to be the target of a stabbing after turning down a date proposal for the upcoming prom at Jonathan Law High School, which was scheduled for tonight. The prom has been postponed out of respect for the Sanchez family and friends, and the Milford Community.
