Between economic uncertainty, and the high cost of tuition, traditional 4 year liberal arts programs require some thought and planning as to whether that is an appropriate career path for some students. Community colleges offer an affordable two year associates programs and certification programs that might provide alternatives for students and professionals.
Housatonic Community College this summer is offering a selection of courses that add up to affordability and flexibility.Students can choose courses offered in three summer sessions starting June 2. Session I, an eight-week session, runs June 2– July 24 while Sessions II and III, five-week sessions, run June 2 –July 3 and July 7 – August 7, respectively. Registration starts April. 2.
The cost per class at HCC is a little over $507, while many private schools in the area can cost over $2000 per class. Many of the class credits are transferable to other universities, so many students can chose to take just a few classes at HCC then transfer some credits over to a college or other program of their choosing.
