Stratford Fire Fighters Bring Home the Bacon

Stratford's Firefighters had an eventful weekend.  the Fire Department responded to originally what was considered a motor vehicle accident to discover that the traffic issue was a good Samaritan who pulled over trying to protect a stray pig that found its way onto Interstate 95 near Exit 32.  Units E1 and TAC 5 responded to the call and secured the pig.  The Pig was escorted by Stratford EMS to the Stratford Animal Control Facility where it is being treated for minor injuries.  How and why the pig found its way to the highway is still undetermined.

Followers of the Stratford Fire Department's Facebook page are lobbying to have the pig become an honorary member of the Fire Department and serve as the mascot.

Stratford's Firefighters also won another People's Choice Award at the 7th Annual Milford Yacht Club Police and Firefighter Chili Festival. This event is put on each year by the Milford Police Department and benefits Special Olympics.  Firefighter's Mathew Morse and Michael Camperlengo were the award winning head cooks.
