Artist Allan Wittert Opens Show at Troy Fine Art on April 27

Allen Wittert's large abstracted paintings explode with vibrant energy and personality. His highly textured canvases will be on show at the Troy Fine Art Gallery, located at 3310 Post Rd. in, Southport with an opening reception on Friday April 27 from 6 to 8:30 pm. The show runs through the end of May.

A US citizen born in South Africa,  Wittert began his career in the arts working as an artist for Ogilvy Mather in New York creating  story-boards for international clients. He later moved to London where he studied abstract painting at the Slade School of Art. Today, Wittert creates thick textures using coats of gesso mixed with acrylic paint. Using large brushes and spatulas he lays down vibrant saturated color tones creating a dance of colors on the canvas. American culture and landscape provide his inspiration, while strong and earthy textures of places abroad are apparent in his dynamic paintings. The result is paintings that are full of life and energy, creating exuberant floral designs bursting with color. Wittert’s art can be found in both regional and international collections.

"His bouquets live and breathe and don’t need watering, perfect for any place this Spring.” said Denise DiGrigol, co-owner at Troy Fine Art.
