The Ridgefield Theater Barn is proud to open their 50th Anniversary Season with the cheeky heartwarming play Calendar Girls, Friday, September 11th at 8pm.  The play, by Tim Firth, and adapted from the film of the same name, is directed by Debbie Levin and will be presented Friday and Saturday evenings at 8pm through October 3rd, with Sunday matinees September 20th & 27th at 5pm.

This charming and “revealing” comedy is based on the true story of a group of working-class British housewives who became overnight celebrities by posing for a nude calendar in order to raise money for a new leukemia unit.  A beautifully written play, with an inspiring message, Calendar Girls features the local talent of Jody Bayer, Cheryl Boyd, Beth Brandon, Charlotte Camillos, Mindy Goff, Tim Harbolic, Rosemary Howard, Patrick Kelly, Eric Luther, Melissa Ridenour, Mary Shuldman, Keli Soloman, and Steve Stott.

In keeping with the spirit of the show, during the run of the production the Theater Barn will be selling bracelets supporting the fight against cancer, with all proceeds going to Ann’s Place, a compassionate nonprofit agency serving Connecticut and eastern New York with professional counseling, support groups, and wellness programs for people whose lives have been touched by cancer.  Since their formation in 1991 all services have been offered free of charge.  The agency hosts an open house the first Thursday of every month from 2 to 3:30 pm.  For more information call 203-790-6568 or visit annsplace.org

Tickets for Calendar Girls are $24 for adults and $20 for students, seniors, and veterans.  Seating is cabaret style and patrons are encouraged to bring food and drink to enjoy before the show.  Doors open one hour prior to curtain.  Reservations and more information is available at www.ridgefieldtheaterbarn.org.
