Person-to-Person Receives Continued Support from Newman’s Own Foundation

Person-to-Person has received a $5,000 grant from Westport-based Newman’s Own Foundation to support the Emergency Assistance Program.

Helping to meet the immediate needs of the working poor in Fairfield County – such as food insecurity, the threat of eviction or the imminent shutoff of utilities – this P2P program provides food, clothing and financial assistance and offers casework services to help guide clients toward self-sufficiency. The P2P service area includes Norwalk, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Weston, Westport and Wilton.

Since 1989, Newman’s Own Foundation has been a steady supporter of Person-to-Person. Working to promote positive change in the communities we serve, P2P is pleased that the agency’s mission aligns with Paul Newman’s dream of changing the lives of those less fortunate and grateful for this grant. According to P2P Executive Director Ceci Maher, “This ongoing support of the work we do helps P2P make a difference in the lives of people who come to the agency for assistance.”

Newman’s Own Foundation turns all net profits and royalties from the sale of Newman’s Own products into charitable donations. Since 1982, 100% of the profits from the sale of Newman’s Own products, now totaling more than $475 million, has been contributed to thousands of nonprofit organizations worldwide.
