Innovation Workshop at the Westport Library

Where does innovation come from? Does it suddenly appear from the imagination, or does it involve a deliberate thought process? How do inventors and marketers apply their inspiration and knowledge to create new products and bring them to market? Marketing expert Bob Oros will address these questions and more on Wednesday, May 7, at 7 pm in the Westport Library’s McManus Room. Part of the Library’s Inventor’s Series, the program is free and open to the public.

Oros has been using his marketing expertise in consumer products for over 40 years with such companies as Vick Chemical, Ralston Purina, Pillsbury, American Can and Life Savers. He organized and managed the new products group for Westport-based MCA, which helped corporations identify and qualify strategic growth initiatives and development programs.

In 1983, he founded Business Development Resources, a marketing consulting firm that helps corporations, entrepreneurs and inventors. He has a degree in marketing from Rutgers University and a MBA from Michigan State University. Currently serving on the board of the Inventors Association of Connecticut, he has served on the board of the Connecticut Venture Group andparticipates as a judge for the annual Network for Teaching in Entrepreneurship contests.
