Tap creative potential in a Story Design Lab with Alex Larsen and other members of the family-run Larsen Toy Lab in Westport during the month of August. Workshops for ages 5-8 will guide children through the process of creating stories, hero characters and activities related to the use of building blocks. One project will be selected at the end of the workshop series to go into production, with one of the stories to be published as a book by the Larsen Toy Lab.
Space is limited for this program. Register for one of the two series, which offer the same instruction:
· Monday-Wednesday, August 4-6, 12:30-1:45 pm
· Monday-Wednesday, August 11-13, 12:30-1:45 pm
Larsen has an engineering degree with an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Sustainability from Pepperdine University. His mother, Dana Larsen, has 20 years of teaching experience in grades K-5 and has been instrumental in developing the stories and activities for the workshops. Larsen's sister, Courtney Larsen Keller, and father, Rod Larsen, also bring their experiences in sales, marketing, management and woodworking to the program.
The program is made possible through a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences (IMLS).
