Mystery Book Day at the Westport Library

Love a good mystery? Mystery writer and publisher Chris Knopf of the NY Mystery Writers of America Chapter (which includes Connecticut) moderates a conversation with New York Times bestseller Wendy Corsi Staub and USA Today bestseller and Edgar Award-nominee Alison Gaylin about their latest works and the writing life. Free and open to the public, the program will be held on Saturday, August 2, from 2-4 pm in the Westport Library's McManus Room.

Staub's new book, The Perfect Stranger, is her second thriller exploring the world of Internet predators. She is also the award-winning author of more than 70 other novels. New York Times #1 bestselling mystery author Harlan Coban calls Staub "one of my favorite authors."

Gaylin's new book, Stay With Me, is the third installment of her Brenna Spector series. In this story, Brenna's entire world is turned upside down as she faces her most deeply personal case yet—the disappearance of her own daughter. British thriller writer Lee Child says of Gaylin: "One of my favorite writers raises the bar—again."

Knopf has published 11 mystery/thrillers, among them, Dead Anyway, winner of the 2013 Nero Award, and a sequel, Cries of the Lost, named a Best Mystery 2013 by Library Journal. The third book in the Arthur Cathcart series, A Billion Ways To Die, will be released in this November. Knopf also writes the Sam Acquillo and Jackie Swaitkowski Hamptons Mystery Series and, by day, is CEO at Mintz + Hoke, a communications agency in Avon, CT, and a co-publisher of Permanent Press.
