Y's Men to Start 38th Year on 9/4

Y's Men of Westport/Weston will begin their 38th year of activities with a talk by David Pogue, personal technology advisor to the world, author, NOVA host, and founder of Yahoo Tech, He will speak on the continuing evolution of personal technology and whatever else seizes his fertile imagination.

President Marty Yellin stated that the purpose of the Y's Men is "to have fun, develop lasting friendships, become more enlightened, even serve your community. You'll find so many opportunities to explore your own interests or to try something new and stimulating with like-minded members. Participate, expand your circle of friends, perhaps make a few priceless new friendships. I truly believe that being an active member of Y's Men will become one of the best things you could do with your life right now."

The Y's Men meet every Thursday from September to May. Members mingle and chat over coffee and donuts, then gather to hear speakers offering important, interesting and relevant topics including politics, business, finance, the arts, sports medicine and science group to name a few.

The group also offers over 30 activities - social, athletic and intellectual - to keep the juices flowing, including hiking, skiing, bowling, sailing, book discussions, photography, international affairs, computers, investing, memoir writing, bridge, backgammon, gardening, trips and travel, and community services.

The upcoming year's board is composed of President Marty Yellin, 1st Vice President Art Greenberg, 2nd Vice President Chris Lewis, Immediate Past President Brian Strong, Secretary Ted Voss, Assistant Secretary Les Wolf, Treasurer Joel Wasserman, Assistant Treasurer Fred Rosen, Trips & Events Chair Jeff Hare, Community Service Chair Peter Knight, Communications Chair Sal Mollica, Membership Chair Tom Douglas, Historian Bill Balch and Directors-at-Large Jay Dirnberger, Sean Jackman and John Weiss.
