Celebrate Geek the Library!

A celebration of the Westport Library’s successful months-long Geek the Library awareness campaign will be held Tuesday, August 30, from 5-6:30 pm in the Library’s Great Hall. The event is free and open to the public, including the over 500 people who posed for photographs by professional photographer Pamela Einarsen with what they “geek,” or are passionate about. The campaign resoundingly achieved the goal of expanding awareness of Library programs and services, and highlighted a vast collection of interests enjoyed by our community.

The event will include entertainment by a group of improvisation artists (including local teacher Kerstin Rao), interactive games and puzzles using words of the many things people geek, a book on display of photographs taken, refreshments and remarks by Library Executive Director Bill Harmer. Prints of photos will be available for those who have not yet picked theirs up at the Circulation Desk.
