Election Day Children’s Program at Westport Historical Society

The first of three School Vacation Programs, WHS’s Election Day program on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 9 am to 1pm, will have a fun-filled day of activities for children ages 6 to 11 to explore the meaning and importance of election day.  Led by Education and Programs Director, Nicole Carpenter, the day will include activities sure to stimulate and interest every child who attends!

The day starts with a mock election!  Children will be taught to understand the process of our election system as well as the qualities that make a good representative and what responsibilities go along with the job of helping lead our nation.
Children will also participate in a scavenger hunt throughout the museum, explore the grounds, and make a patriotic sweet treat.

Learn what inspired the design of our country’s flag and the meaning of the symbols and colors.  After we explore this historic milestone, we will design our own flags to represent either our family, our town or country, choosing colors and symbols that best represent what we want to convey. Join your friends for an exciting day of fun, learning and hands-on activities.  Please bring a bag lunch.

Individual Session: Members $50, Non-Members $60
