Fairfield Women's Exchange hosts Booksigning - Susan Hood, local award-winning author

On Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 11am to 2pm   will be at the Fairfield Women's Exchange (332 Pequot Avenue, Southport, CT 06890) to sign copies of her award-winning Children's books including, Ada’s Violin, The Fix-It Man, The Tooth Mouse, Tickly Toes,Mission:  New Baby, Double Take. 

Susan Hood, local award-winning author

Susan began her writing career at Nick Jr. Magazine, as Children’s Content Director, where she edited original stories by the winners of many highly acclaimed book award winners.  Before that, she was a children’s book editor at Sesame Workshop.

While working as an editor, she wrote hundreds of children’s books for ages 1-8, including board books, concept books, interactive books, nonfiction and beginning readers. She has published books with Disney, Fisher-Price, Penguin Putnam, Scholastic, Sesame Workshop and Simon & Schuster, among others.

Susan won the prestigious Christopher Award for Ada’s Violin:  The Story of the Recycled Orchestra of Paraguay.”  The award celebrates work that “affirms the highest values of the human spirit.”

Susan lives with her family in Southport and enjoys spending the summer sailing with her husband along the coast of Maine.

The Fairfield Women's exchange is a run by volunteers and donates 100% of store profits to local charities that support Women and Children.
