Author Tony Abbott Visits downtown Fairfield University Bookstore on Oct. 22

Tony Abbott, bestselling author of 100 mystery and adventure books for middle grade readers, will visit the downtown Fairfield University Bookstore on Wednesday, Oct. 22 to launch his latest book, “The Serpent’s Curse.” The event begin at 6:30 p.m. and includes a book talk, Q&A, and signing.

“The Serpent’s Curse” is the second full-length novel in Abbott’s middle grade series, The Copernicus Legacy. Beginning with “The Forbidden Stone,” the series follows four brave and resourceful kids—Wade (the leader), Lily (the techie), Darrell (the practical one), and Becca (the bookworm)—as they race around the world solving mind-bending puzzles, riddles, and clues in search of 12 hidden relics. “The Serpent’s Curse” finds the gang trekking across Siberia, through the winding canals of Venice, and along the streets of Moscow to the Red Square in search of Darrell’s mother, who has been kidnapped, and a mysterious relic called the Serpens.

“Publisher’s Weekly” lauded the novel as “fast-paced and clever,” adding “the novel reads like a mash up of the ‘National Treasure’ films and ‘The DaVinci Code.”
