Call for Singers (and lovers of the Irish): Music on the Hill Festival Chorus starts Feb. 3

Chase away winter doldrums with song!

Music on the Hill invites singers to join the Festival Chorus for a March concert featuring Celtic music in honor of St. Patrick's Day.  Artistic Director Ellen Dickinson conducts.

Rehearsals are Tuesdays from Feb. 3 to March 10, 7 - 9 p.m., at the Wilton Episcopal and Presbyterian Church Complex (WEPCO), 48 New Canaan Road, Wilton.  The concert will be held on Sunday, March 15, at 3 p.m., also at WEPCO.

Advance registration required.  E-mail ellen@musiconthehillCT.org.  New singers welcome!

The Irish Concert will pair the Festival Chorus with the Jubilate Ringers, Music on the Hill's 5-octave handbell choir.  The two last performed a sold-out "Sounds of the Season" Christmas concert in December at WEPCO.

The Festival Chorus is one of Music on the Hill's three choral ensembles and draws 40-40 singers from across the region and beyond. The group typically performs three concerts each year, one in spring and fall in addition to the Christmas concert.  Participants are encouraged to join for one rehearsal/concert cycle or for many, as personal schedules permit.

Following the March concert, the Spring 2015 Season continues with an April Spring Ring workshop, an opportunity for handbell ringers to read through new music together.  On May 1st, the professional-level Chamber Chorus performs "Music of Shakespeare" at the Pequot Library in Southport.
