“Manic Monday” pop princesses will shine when The Bangles perform at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, October 2

With catchy lyrics and unforgettable hooks, “Manic Monday” became The Bangles' first hit, charting on the No. 2 spot in the United States. Other Bangles hits include “If She Knew What She Wants”,” and the smash dance track “Walk Like an Egyptian”. One of the greatest all-female bands, The Bangles will make everyone want to get up and dance at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, October 2, at 8 p.m. Their follow-ups included a hard rocking cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Hazy Shade Of Winter” plus two more chart hits, “In Your Room” and the seminal ballad “Eternal Flame”, which landed on Billboard’s No. 1 spot as the fifth largest-selling single of 1989. Nature’s Temptations (32 Prospect St., Ridgefield) will serve a complimentary smoothie with the purchase of a salad or sandwich the day of this show when ticket is presented.

Lauded for their inventive incorporation of ‘60s folk rock, sunny SoCal harmonies and Beatles/Byrds/Beach Boys/Big Star godhead into a sound all its own, The Bangles’ rags-to-riches story started in L.A.’s Paisley Underground scene. They went on to reign as chart-topping, record-breaking smart pop princesses of the ‘80s, then on to their 1989 breakup, 1999 reunion, and current position as Living Legends  -- rocking, recording, and touring for a whole new generation of fans. As the girls themselves put it:  “If you can survive success, you can survive anything.”
