Join Christopher McDougall and his "Heroes Gang" for the launch of his latest book Natural Born Heroes. McDougall will lead a fun run, followed by a one-of-a-kind cabaret stage show featuring the lost arts of the ancient Greek heroes.
The fun run will leave from Ridgefield Running Company at 88 Danbury Road at 6 p.m. and end up at Veterans Park Elementary School, where the 7 p.m. stage show will take place.
Learn about free running, natural movement, knife-throwing, foraging for super-foods, and using body fat as performance fuel. McDougall will be joined on stage by guest speakers, including Liz Miele, stand-up comic and warrior-poet of marathon running; Julie Angel and Dan Edwardes, Parkour experts; and Tara Wood, creator of Wild Fitness.
McDougall is the author of the international best-seller Born To Run, currently being adapted into a feature film starring Matthew McConaughey. Just as Born to Run inspired readers to get off the treadmill, out of their shoes, and into the natural world, Natural Born Heroes will inspire them to leave the gym and take their fitness routine to nature-to climb, swim, skip, throw, and jump their way to their own heroic feats.
Please register for the stage show. No registration needed for the fun run.
