Application Deadlines Are Coming. Let Collegewise Help.

The college application and admissions process has become a stressful affair for many families. Choosing schools to apply to can be challenging, and as fall begins, application deadlines loom in the not-too-distant future.

Collegewise, which is affiliated with The Princeton Review, is out to take the stress out of getting your child into the school that offers the best fit and and the most exciting opportunities for his or her future. Founded on the belief that the college process should be an enjoyable one for families and that the most selective colleges don’t have the market cornered on great college experiences, Collegewise assigns students to a college counselor who guides them through each and every step of the process without doing the work for them---from picking colleges, to filling out applications, to choosing the right stories for students’ college essays. Unless you believe  there are only 12 colleges on the planet worth attending and (if you do, we’d like to politely disagree), we can probably help you find---and secure a spot at--the best school for your child.

Could your family could use some good advice on the admissions process?

Would you like to feel better about your child's upcoming journey?

Does your student need direction and guidance (without handholding) to complete his or her applications?

If your answers to these questions are yes, your family would benefit from the services Collegewise offers.

The Westport office of Collegewise is fortunate to have Amy Chatterjee in charge.

In 2002, while working as a college counselor in a New York City public school, Amy began writing her college informational newsletter, Prep News that was distributed to high school seniors. Today, New York City schools send Amy’s newsletters to thousands of students in both print and online formats. She has also worked as a college counselor coordinator for the Peter Jay Sharp Foundation and as a financial aid educator for CUNY at Home in College where she developed and presented seminars for under-resourced students. Who would have thought that the high school kid who wore a poodle skirt to her job at a local 50's themed hotdog restaurant would go on to become a beacon for college admissions guidance?

A graduate of Shepherd College (now Shepherd University, home of their “huggable, lovable mascot,” Zan the Ram), Amy also has a masters in secondary school counseling from Villanova. A self-described soccer mom to her kids, Dylan and Mia, Amy’s car is consistently filled to the brim with shin guards, water bottles, cleats and enough granola bars to feed a small midwestern liberal arts college. When she’s not counseling other peoples’ children or parenting her own, Amy enjoys devouring celebrity gossip, belting out (in private) her favorite country music songs, and lobbying for the acceptance of chips and guacamole as its own acceptable food group.

How can you find out more about Collegewise and schedule an appointment with Amy?

First, visit the website at www.collegewise.com

There you can find out about their programs, learn about their counselors and their backgrounds, and hear from students and parents who’ve worked with them successfully. You can also register for their monthly newsletter. For more information, you can read the Collegewise blog at www.wiselikeus.com. The blog provides free advice for students, parents, and counselors. And they write an entry every day.
