Family Dietician Announces New Westport Location

Westport, CT – Abby Greenspun, MS RD CDN, an experienced, registered dietician-nutritionist is excited to announce the opening of her new office at 840 Post Road East, Westport, CT, where she will continue to provide adults, adolescents and children with the tools and education to prevent disease, improve health and lose weight.

“I have been a nutritionist for 21 years, and with the increased interest in the relationship between what we eat and our well-being, my business is growing,” says Abby. “I am happy to be able to provide a new office that is easily accessible for my Fairfield County clients.”

Abby helps clients incorporate healthy eating habits into their daily lives and heighten their awareness of the importance of health and nutrition. “The key to success is listening to my clients’ needs, analyzing their nutritional habits, learning their work and living situations, and setting realistic goals so that that they can feel success from their efforts and hopefully make life-long changes.” Abby explains that; “cookie-cutter approaches to nutrition and diet are doomed to failure.”

While patients come to Abby for successful weight management programs, she also offers medical nutrition therapy to help clients work through medical conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, diseases of the gastrointestinal system, Celiac disease, PCOS, rheumatoid arthritis, cancer and lupus. Abby works closely with her clients’ treating physicians to ensure they are receiving the best possible advice for their particular disease or disorder. “Obesity remains one of the nation's most serious health problems, especially among children, and unfortunately I see a lot of overweight kids, with poor eating habits,” she says. “There is just such an abundance of food everywhere and it’s hard for them to make the right choices without guidance.” Abby explains that; “It is hard to help overweight children unless the parents are invested in the process,” which is why she often also counsels entire families on making better nutritional choices in the supermarket, at the dinner table and in restaurants. Abby also has extensive experience in guiding parents of “picky eaters,” vegans and vegetarians.

“I love what I do because I can help people make meaningful changes that allow them to look and feel better about their health and themselves.”
