A Story We Wanted to Share From our Friends at The Princeton Review

S

Editor's note: We received a call for help from our friends at Westport based Princeton Review that we wanted to share with our readers. While the person in need of help hails from Florida, she is part of the Westport Princeton Review's extended family.

Husband and wife team who run Princeton Review’s Orlando office are parents to daughter, Autumn-Rain, a bright high school student who is eager to attend college in the fall. Her doctors say that will not happen unless she receives some assistance. “Jamie and Shaun Cricks have been with us for such a long time.  Even though we’re physically separated from the Crickses, they’re very much a part of the Westport Princeton Review extended family,” explains Princeton Review Executive Director, Chris Piane.

Their daughter has health issues but her doctors say that taking a therapy dog with her to college will assure her health doesn’t deteriorate. “If she is going to live on campus and be independent, she needs help. This help can come in the way of a Service Dog specifically trained to prompt her throughout the day to do life preserving actions. Her dog will not only alert her to lowering sugar levels but also to low blood pressure,” her parents explain.

The therapy dog costs $6000.“These things are expensive, but can literally change the course of someone’s life and the opportunities to which they can avail themselves,” explains Princeton Review Executive Director, Chris Piane.
