Anyone who is familiar with Eileen Fisher – the brand and the woman – knows that social consciousness is paramount to everything she and the company does. From support of women, human rights, and the environment, to grants for community-focused projects, giving back is integral to the Eileen Fisher label.
It is no surprise, then, that each year the Westport Farmers’ Market teams up with Eileen Fisher to host a pop-up market in the Westport store. “The Westport Farmers’ Market and Eileen Fisher share a fierce commitment to the local community through projects that educate, nourish, and support people at every level,” said Lori Cochran-Dougall, executive director of the Westport Farmers’ Market. “Eileen generously opens up her Westport store and invites vendors to display and sell local food and fare while contributing a portion of the proceeds to WFM. It’s a really exciting event and collaboration.”
This year promises to be no exception. The pop-up farmers’ market will feature a few of everyone’s favorite WFM vendors: Sport Hill Farm; Jane’s Good Food; Huckleberry Artisan Pastries; and the Stapes High School Culinary Program. Not only will shoppers be able to purchase locally grown and handcrafted food from WFM vendors, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Eileen Fisher items will go to support the WFM.
The mission of the Westport Farmers’ Market is to create and maintain a regional hub where real farmers connect with consumers over real food.
