HamletHub Adding Yorktown Heights as the Latest City in Its Roster of Hyperlocal News Sites

HamletHub.com a pioneering network of 'hyperlocal' websites providing locally originated news and information to communities has launched its newest hyperlocal site for the Yorktown Heights, NY area, the company announced today.

With a full roster of sites covering most of Fairfield County Connecticut and Westchester County, HamletHub has added Yorktown Heights, NY to its roster of hyperlocal news sites. The company is proud to announce that Yorktown resident, Lisa Vera, has agreed to become the editor of Yorktown HamletHub.

"We are thrilled to welcome our neighbors in the vibrant New York village of Yorktown Heights to HamletHub," said Ms. Ducey. "There are so many great people and businesses in the Yorktown Heights community who deserve to have their very own forum to share neighborhood news, stories, ideas, events and best business practices. Lisa Vera will help make Yorktown Heights a better place." Ducey adds.

HamletHub launched the first local news "Hub" in Ridgefield in 2009 with a mission to make the world better, one HamletHub at a time. HamletHub won a prestigious Connecticut Press Club Award in 2011, 2012 & took home 6 awards in 2013, including Best Website.

HamletHub sites differ from other media outlets based on their focus on the needs of the community — its residents as well as the organizations and businesses that make up the fabric of the town. Yorktown Heights HamletHub offers a unique opportunity for these groups to have a voice in their community, either by submitting articles to the site as a local resident, or by participating in the site's unique Article Membership service for businesses, giving them an unprecedented opportunity to tell their story and to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.

Lisa Vera was born and raised in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and moved to Yorktown Heights where she met her husband in 2007. She has one son and is a member of the Brookside Elementary PTA. Being from Colorado, she enjoys Yorktown's bike and hiking trails, parks and has enjoyed all the local activities and events her town has to offer.

Her background is in Graphic Design and she is a social media crazed individual who is excited to bring local happening information to Yorktown residents. Lisa helps lead music at Yorktown's Calvary Bible Church and has been a Mary Kay Consultant since 2011.
