Fairfield Museum and History Center’s Holiday Train Show Opens Dec. 2

FAIRFIELD, CT– The Fairfield Museum and History Center (FMHC) plans a glittering holiday season to remember, beginning with the exciting and colorful Annual Holiday Express Train Show, which opens on Friday, December 2 at 7 p.m. immediately following the Fairfield Town Green Tree Lighting.

After the tree lighting ceremony, visitors will walk down an illuminated path across the town green to a warm and welcoming FMHC to participate in the opening of the annual Holiday Express Train Show. The exhibit will delight kids and adults alike with the magic of the model trains winding around a spectacularly decorated tree and through beautiful holiday scenery. A camera perched upon one train will even offer a train’s-eye-view looking down the track.

The train show is made possible by Fairfield-based Housatonic Model Railroad Club and the Connecticut G-Scalers Club, who will host and answer questions, as well as point out details of the collectibles, classic trains, modular dioramas and antique trains in this eye-popping holiday display.

The Museum’s gift shop, in addition to its unusual line of holiday gifts, will offer a special line for train lovers, according to Bobby Sue Smart, gift shop Manager. “We have an array of gift ideas for the especially creative buyer of any age, and we are offering discounts throughout the season.”

The Holiday Express Train Show runs through Jan. 2, 2012. Opening night admissions is $3 for adults. Children ages 10 and under enter for free.

Please check the FMHC website for schedule details.
