Opening Reception - "Watercolors by John Norment" at Leclerc Contemporary Gallery

Leclerc Contemporary Gallery is pleased to announce a one man show of the mid-century modern works of John Norment (1911 – 1988), an artist, cartoonist, writer, and illustrator who lived in Chicago, New York, and later in Westport, CT. He was best known for his work in the New Yorker, who published 2 covers featuring his art, the Saturday Evening Post, Look and many other magazines.  He was also a jazz enthusiast and vocalist, who performed regularly with the “Peppermill Jazz Band”. His niece, Mandy Teare, will curate the show. This show will run through November 8th.

Leclerc Contemporary Gallery was founded by antique and design professional Geoffrey Walsky. Inspired by his great grandfather Julien Jacques Leclerc, an artist in Paris during the 1920s, Leclerc Contemporary was created to provide a venue for established and emerging contemporary artists to exhibit their work and is located at the Fairfield County Antique & Design Center, 19 Willard Rd., Norwalk, CT 06851, just 40 minutes from New York City. Isabella Garrucho of IGI Fine Arts is the Gallery Director. For more information contact Geoffrey Walsky at 203-826-9575 and visit www.leclerccontemporary.com
