The production will run from October 2nd through October 18th, 2015 at the Milford Center for Arts.  Friday and Saturday performances are at 8pm, Sunday matinees are at 2pm. Please note: this play contains adult language and situations.

Tickets are $20.00 general admission, $18.00 for seniors and students. Call 203-882-0969 for reservations.

The show features John Bachelder of Woodbridge, Cindy Hartog of Westport, Marc Hartog of Westport, and Bruce Murray of Stratford.

Hollywood, 1939, and producer David O. Selznick has shut down production of Gone with the Wind due to concerns about the script. Frustrated by the flurry of poor adaptations, he reaches out to Ben Hecht, referring to him as "the greatest re-writer." After firing the film's director and pulling Victor Fleming from the set of the Wizard of Oz, Selznick finds that Hecht has never read the original novel.

Over five days, the three men are kept to a diet of bananas and peanuts.  Aided by one painfully dutiful secretary, the three creative minds grapple with the novel’s social issues as they hammer out a working screenplay for one of the most successful and beloved films of all time.

Director Rich Mancini says, "For audiences – and for movie buffs, especially – "Moonlight & Magnolias" is a dream come true -- a hilarious comedy about what it might've been like when three gigantic Hollywood talents converge to hammer out one of the most famous films of all time. Ron Hutchinson has absolutely nailed this one, in what I believe is one of the best comedies of the last couple of decades... turning real-life historical figures into lovably hysterical characters that really draw you into the story. And it's just as much fun for those of us who get to produce it; I've got a wonderful cast of four actors who (sometimes literally) throw themselves into the world of creating "Gone With the Wind"... and I think our Eastbound Theatre audiences will really enjoy the result."

Ron Hutchinson is a prolific playwright and Emmy award winning screenwriter, known best for such movies as Traffic, The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Ten Commandments, and The Josephine Baker Story; as well as his critically acclaimed piece The Irish Play. Born in Ireland, Mr. Hutchinson has lived in Southern California and worked in Hollywood for almost twenty years, in both television and film, which served as his inspiration for Moonlight and Magnolias.
