Fairfield County Bank Donates $5,000 to the Open Door Shelter in Norwalk

Ridgefield, CT – January 18, 2018: Fairfield County Bank donated $5,000 to the Open Door Shelter in Norwalk. The donation will help support the Smilow SoNo Life Center. The Bank will be partnering with the Life Center to offer financial training to their clients and become involved in the Shelter’s activities.

“We are very fortunate to help the Open Door Shelter as they play a vital role in our community by helping others in need,” said Isaac Walcott, Vice President at Fairfield County Bank. “The Life Center will have a lasting impact on Norwalk, and we are proud to be a part of it.”

The Smilow Sono Life Center will be built in a historic 19th-century factory building. The 19,800 square foot building will be completely restored and house sixteen efficiency apartments, a job training facility and a neighborhood health center that will offer mental health and substance abuse counseling services. The Life Center will serve both individuals and families of the working poor and the homeless community.
