Westport Weston Y Appoints Philip Dwyer as Interim CEO

Bonnie Strittmatter, President of the Westport Weston Family Y’s volunteer Board of Directors, announced that Philip Dwyer, retired CEO of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, has been appointed as Interim CEO of the Family Y.

A resident of Fairfield, Dwyer served the YMCA movement for over 40 years. He will begin his employment at the Y’s new facility at 14 Allen Raymond Lane on Monday, Oct. 27.

The Westport Weston Family Y recently accepted the resignation of current CEO Rob Reeves.

“Leading the Y through a successful capital campaign and opening our new Y facility was my goal when I accepted the position over five years ago,” said Reeves. “I look forward to new career opportunities in the future.”

“We wish Rob the best and thank him for his leadership of our capital campaign and building project,” Strittmatter said. She added that the Y’s Board of Directors will be working with Reeves on the future plans for the Family Y through the end of the year, including a smooth transition for Dwyer.

The Board will also be working with YMCA of the USA on the CEO search process and additional resources for support.
