Opening Reception - Beauty and Ruin

Please join us for the opening reception of the Silvermine Arts Center's November Exhibitions, "Beauty and Ruin: Broken Landscapes, Lost Symbols" on Sunday, November 9 from 2-4pm.

Three artists will explore these themes in photography, sculpture, and a site-dependent installation. June Ahrens evokes loss and fragility while channeling light through a landscape of broken glass in “What’s Left;” beauty and horror coexist in “The Hand of Man,” J Henry Fair’s photographs; and Carlos Davila creates a visual landscape that abstracts the symbols and forms of ancient cultures and combines them with those of advanced technology and modern industry in “Neo-Archaism.”

These exhibitions will be open from November 9-December 23.
