Westport, CT -- On Friday, July 14, Grammy Award-Winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason will revisit Westport’s Levitt Pavilion as he revisits his classic masterpiece “Alone Together” with his all-star band featuring Johnne Sambataro, Alvino Bennett, and Tony Patler. This limited engagement concert tour includes fan favorites like All Along The Watchtower and Feelin’ Alright in addition to the entire classic album. Archival photos and firsthand behind the scenes commentary makes for an immersive and enhanced experience celebrating one of rock n roll history’s most significant albums performed by one of the most legendary living classic rock artists. This highly anticipated, special ticketed event is sponsored by Westport’s Leifer Properties - the proceeds help underwrite the over 50 nights of world-class music, arts and entertainment presented free-of-charge by the Levitt Pavilion each summer.
Dave Mason is a favorite -- this will be the fourth time the Levitt Pavilion has the pleasure and privilege to present him – his three previous appearances were each electrifying. He and his band first performed at the original Levitt Pavilion’s band-shell in 2004 to one of the biggest audiences ever in Westport – that concert is still considered by many to be one of the most exciting shows in the Levitt Pavilion’s star-studded history. Mason’s 2nd engagement in ’05 was met with similar enthusiastic response despite a spectacular lightning storm that brought an early close to the event. His third appearance in 2013 was also “super hot” - literally - in a heatwave and held on a jam-packed Jesup Green that was the site of the “pop-up” Levitt Pavilion as the riverside site was being readied for construction of the new Levitt Pavilion. So it is very exciting to bring back Dave Mason to light up light up the Epstein Stage at the all-new Levitt Pavilion.
Best known for his soulful voice and unsurpassed guitar playing, Dave Mason was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a founding member of the group Traffic, and continues performing as a solo artist with sold-out shows all over the world. His career spans several important rock eras, and encompasses his work as a producer, performer, songwriter, and consummate guitarist. A quintessential rock star, Mason has collaborated with numerous members of music elite, including Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, and many more.
