Bridgeport Summer Stage Goes Back to School: Sign Up Now for Annie Jr.

Bridgeport Summer Stage is a comprehensive immersive theatre experience for young actors entering grades 1-10 (in fall 2017), supported by a professional creative staff of directors and designers at the University of Bridgeport in downtown Bridgeport, CT. This session will create a full production of a musical, starting with the initial audition and followed by a multi-week rehearsal process, culminating in an exciting weekend of performances where family and friends can enjoy your hard work from the audience. No previous experience is required.

The Back to School 2017 staff is led by Director Christy McIntosh-Newsom, Music Director Eli Newsom, Choreographer Madeleine Tommins, and Assistant Director Chelsea Dacey. This year’s session of Annie Jr. begins September 19 with performances the weekend of November 4-5.

Each rehearsal will begin with vocal and physical warm-ups, and then we will rehearse the show, sometimes breaking off into smaller groups. For those not working with the director, we will have break-off choreography and music rehearsals, and even offer workshops in musical theatre dance, improvisation, and music technique!

The cost of the session is $395. Siblings signing up for the program receive a discount.
