On Monday, May 26, 2025, the Town of Wilton will gather for its annual Memorial Day Parade—a cherished tradition that honors the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day serves as a solemn reminder of the cost of freedom and the deep gratitude we owe to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., but multiple road closures will go into effect starting at 9:30 a.m. to ensure public safety and support the smooth operation of the event.
The following roads will be closed to all traffic beginning at 9:30 a.m.:
- Ridgefield Road (between Danbury Road and Drum Hill Road)
- Horseshoe Road (from Wolfpit Road to the Town Center)
- Belden Hill Road (between Drum Hill Road and Ridgefield Road)
As the parade progresses, limited road access will be restored:
- Once the final participants have moved through, Center Street will partially reopen.
- Horseshoe Road will be reopened to allow vehicles into the Town Center.
- Ridgefield Road will reopen between Danbury Road and Center Street.
- Old Ridgefield Road
- Hubbard Road
- Ridgefield Road (from Center Street to Drum Hill Road)
It is anticipated that all roads will reopen by approximately 12:30 p.m.
In the event of inclement weather, a decision regarding the parade’s cancellation will be made by 7:00 a.m. on the day of the event.
“This annual event is a meaningful time for our community to come together in remembrance and reflection,” the Wilton Police Department stated. “We thank residents in advance for their cooperation and understanding as we implement these necessary safety measures.”
