Community School 27th Annual Pumpkin Festival

The 2011 Pumpkin Festival will be held on Saturday, October 15, at Merwin Meadows in Wilton.

One of our proud achievements as a "community" is the annual Pumpkin Festival.  The event has entertained families from Wilton and neighboring communities for more than 25 years.  Managed and organized by the school’s families, this event has become a great tradition for Wilton, the festival also features children’s games and prizes, face painting, a pumpkin patch, pony rides, delicious home-baked goods, and arts and crafts. Refreshments are available, and there will be a silent auction featuring valuable items and services donated by local merchants and festival supporters.

Attended by nearly 1,500 residents annually, the Pumpkin Festival raises funds to support scholarships and other school programs.  However, the commitment to host the event every year is more about bringing families together and giving something valuable to our wonderful Wilton neighbors, who have long supported the school.

This year the festival will feature live music by Yippee Coyote - rock'n roots music featuring guitars, banjo, electric violin, harmonica, percussion and three part harmonies. Fronted by Eliot and Amy Cabot of Redding, with Peter Hill of Redding on drums, Scott Casher of Wilton on upright bass and harmonica and Steve Schiller of Croton-on-Hudson on electric violin. www.yippeecoyote.net.
