Here is a little bit about Peggy:
Having grown up in an era of slide film, one of Peggy's favorite childhood memories is slideshow night with the family. "Usually, my brothers and I would plead with my parents for one of these special evenings. We'd set aside time after dinner, get the projector going, dim the lights and get so excited to watch our our first steps, trips to the zoo, christenings…we felt so important". Unlike today's families, it was her Dad who was the main photographer. He was the inspiration behind her first 35mm camera while living and working in NYC after college. "I loved photography, and I felt that if I was going to do it right, I needed the proper equipment to take the best images possible." That passion grew into Peggy Garbus Photography, where the goal is to create the same 'slideshow night' feelings and at the same time, document family relationships. "My Dad wasn't in that many photos since he was the photographer". That seems to be the case with today's Mothers. She finds that, "photographing children and their families is such a personal experience. I get to know each family and it's so gratifying to create and preserve their memories". She'll be talking with Hamlet Hub readers about how to create their own lasting memories for their families.
