Got Mud? WCSU Chuck’s Mini-Mudder Does

Running event includes ice troughs, military-style obstacles

                 

Chuck, the mascot of the Western Connecticut State University Colonials, will host the annual Mini-Mudder on Sunday, April 19.

Registration will begin at 7 a.m. on the day of the event in the lobby of the Westside Athletic Complex (stadium building) until 8 a.m. The first heat will start at 8 a.m. on the Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury. Additional heats will start every 15 minutes. The event will not be timed and will be held rain or shine.

The event begins and ends on the turf field of the Athletic Complex. It will include 16 physical challenges over the course of two miles. Water stations will be available along the course. Detailed information about the challenges can be found online at www.facebook.com/ChucksMiniMudder.

Pre-registration is $15 per person before April 10 and $20 after the April 10 deadline, and free for WCSU students. Headbands will be distributed at the finish line. Camouflage “Got Mud?” t-shirts will be available for $15 on event day. Shirt pre-orders are available, and payment must be included with registration.

The event is hosted by the WCSU Recreation Office, the WCSU Health Promotion & Exercise Sciences Department and the Student Government Association. Proceeds will benefit WCSU recreation programming. All participants must be 12 years of age or older. Participants between the ages of 12 and 17 must have written parental consent. Participants between the ages of 12 and 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the course. WCSU reserves the right to close and/or cancel the event at its discretion.
