Fairfield County Bank Participates in United Way's Annual Day of Action

On Wednesday, June 3, 2015, Fairfield County Bank took part in United Way’s annual “Day of Action.” This year, the Bank supported two separate initiatives: Ridgefield’s Sunrise Cottage and Bridgeport’s Geraldine Johnson School. Bill DeMichiel, Senior Vice President, Sales Management at Fairfield County Bank has been organizing the event for 10 years: “Fairfield County Bank is proud of our long relationship with the United Way. We’re pleased to support their Day of Action every year.  This year more than twenty of our employees worked at Sunrise Cottage in Ridgefield and participated in the Read Aloud program at the Geraldine Johnson School in Bridgeport.   Events like this are a great way to give back to our communities and support the United Way’s important work.  We look forward to continuing this commitment for many years ahead,” said DeMichiel.

The Sunrise Cottage is a 501c3 non-profit entity charged with planning, fundraising, building and supervising the operation of community-based resident group housing for the developmentally disabled in the Town of Ridgefield, CT. Fairfield County Bank employees painted, helped with yard work, and assisted with other tasks on the Sunset Cottage’s grounds.

Bank employees who volunteered at Geraldine Johnson School in Bridgeport participated in Coastal United Way’s Read Aloud Program. Volunteers read to small groups of kids and helped coordinate activities.

Fairfield County Bank has continually demonstrated ongoing support for United Way of Western Connecticut and was awarded their Chairman’s Award at this year’s Day of Action Breakfast. The award is given to companies that generated the highest amount of locally raised dollars.

Fairfield County Bank is a $1.5 billion community bank headquartered in Ridgefield, CT with offices throughout Fairfield County. Visit www.fairfieldcountybank.com to find out more about the Bank.
