Person-to-Person Preps for Postal Food Drive

Long-time USPS employee Alan Horowitz, now retired, met with Person-to-Person Norwalk Site Manager Susan Zelman and P2P Director of Volunteers Janet King to plan for the upcoming Postal Food Drive on Saturday, May 14.

Horowitz is helping to coordinate logistics at the Wilton Post Office to ensure that everything goes off without a hitch on the day of the drive.

According to Zelman, Wilton High School Freshmen and P2P Volunteers will be stationed at the Post Office on Hubbard Road, where they will transfer donated bags of food from the postal trucks to the P2P box truck, which will then ferry the donations to the South Norwalk Community Center for sorting. “We received more than 1,700 bags of donated food in Wilton last year, so we are very grateful for Alan’s expertise and assistance.”
