October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Wilton PBA invites you to a fundraiser to support the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) in Stamford.
On October 14, 2016 the Wilton Police Benevolent Association (PBA) is partnering with the Riverbrook Regional YMCA in hosting a Zumba and Spinning event to put an end to domestic violence. Proceeds from the event will support the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) and their mission to end domestic violence.
The class time will be from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at the Wilton Family YMCA located at 404 Danbury Road Wilton, CT 06897. Those wishing to participate in either the Zumba or Spinning class can register here and search keyword DVCC. A minimum donation of $25 for individuals and $35 for families can be paid online at the time of registration.
According to Lt. Rob Cipolla of the Wilton Police Department who serves as the department’s domestic violence liaison, “domestic violence is a national issue, but not one that our small community of Wilton is immune to.” The DVCC serves the communities of Wilton, Norwalk, Stamford, Darien, Weston, New Canaan, and Westport. “Funds raised from this event have the potential to help support an individual or family from our community who has been adversely impacted by domestic violence,” stated Lt. Cipolla.
Wilton Y is located at 404 Danbury Road.
