Trackside Teens Hold Donation Drive for Shelter Pets Project

Last year, the Crafts for Shelter Pets Club at Trackside Teen Center created nearly 40 no-sew pet beds for homeless pets in local animal shelters. This year, the club is meeting again to give homeless pets somewhere cozy to sleep.

Wilton teens meet once a week from October to December to create no-sew pet beds and blankets made from used fleece blankets or fleece material. In order to make the project a success for the second year in a row, the Crafts for Shelter Pets club members are asking the Wilton community for donations.

During the donation drive, club members are asking for items including gently used fleece blankets, fleece material, and cotton or polyester pillow stuffing. Some fleece blankets will be donated as-is to animal shelters if they cannot be used to make pet beds. The number of pet beds made depends on the amount of materials the teens receive through the donation drive.

All items can be dropped off at Trackside at 15 Station Rd in Wilton during open hours until early December. For any questions or further information, contact amy@trackside.org or call 203-834-2888. To learn more about Crafts for Shelter Pets, visit http://www.trackside.org/crafts.
